History

 

Fruits of Pica, is constituted by producers, who count on their respective properties locating these in the localities of Pica, Matilla and Quisma, in the Commune of Pica, Province of the Tamarugal, Region of Tarapacá, Chile, South America.

The company was established by producers of Pica, under the desire and purpose of marketing and exporting the fruits produced in the Oasis, known for their organoleptic characteristics and exclusivity that differentiate them from other producing areas of the country, being also products originating from the only Oasis of Chile, which is located in the Great Atacama Desert, the driest in the world.

About us

 

The company Frutos de Pica. He registers his address in Pica, Tarapacá Region, producing and commercializing diverse fruits and vegetables, being characteristic within his Fruits, the Pica Lemon, at the moment with Seal of Origin. Other fruits produced and marketed are mangoes, oranges, grapefruits, tannins and guavas, mainly.

 

Goals

 

To Market and export products of Chile’s Unique Oasis. Its type of business is niche oriented to Gourmet Markets, due to the uniqueness of its products, adding value to the production with the Origin Mark and Seal Certifications, which allows the products to participate in competitive and more profitable markets, especially with the  Pica Lemon, the main product of the area.

Mission

Pica oasis, with its unique agro-climatic conditions, makes the development of farming off-season possible, in which its products have unique organoleptic characteristics, aroma , sweetness, flavor and texture.

The oasis production is limited to an area where semi thermal water through springs and groundwater, maks agriculture  ​​possible with a limited and exclusive offer.

In this context, the definition of Mission, stresses on the most important aspects such as protection, preservation and enhancement of the production, creating sustainable businesses, and promoting in the oasis, a sustainable agriculture in which the economic, environmental and social aspects are included.

Considering the above, the Mission of the Company is defined as , «To preserve and disseminate the Natural Heritage of the only oasis of the country, to value its production and  do business with Premiun markets through a Business Model Niche, adding value through origin marks, visual traceability, certification with sustainable features and promoting the oasis profitable agriculture with greater benefits for its members and the producers of the Oasis of the Commune of Pica.»
